Our Story

Hi!

I’m Erin and this is my husband Dustin! We both grew up in Minnesota and moved to Duluth in the fall of 2013. The idea of Hillshine started a few years ago with the pursuing of different business ventures. Dustin had been a line cook, trainer, and banquet chef for 15 years and I had been a restaurant server, trainer, bartender, and manager for 17 years. Although we loved the restaurant industry we had a strong desire to start something of our own. After managing a large restaurant for the last couple of years we decided to take a step back and finally go all in on Hillshine.

We believe success is rooted in discipline, consistency, creating and maintaining standards, and never giving up.

What we value most in life: Faith, Family, Friends, and our Community. When we are not working we like to: get together with family, go to church, hang out with our cats Addy and Tilly, bike, hike the North Shore, paint on canvas, and cook super awesome food!

We are SO very thankful and blessed to be able to serve the Duluth, MN community.
